Andrejsala is a creative semi-island near Riga city center in the territory of the Riga freeport. Various art galleries, youth/artist hostel and creative laboratories reside here. The Young Artists Association (jma.lv) together with the creative factory "Dirty Deal Cafe" organized an interdisciplinary plenary from August 1st - 14th 2006 where various young artists worked individually and together interpreting the new location - Andrejsala. My proposal is a video installation.
I took a digital photo camera and went on a walk around the location. I took a photo every 5 steps I made until I had walked a perfect loop. Altogether 158 photos where made and a short video-loop was created:
Then an algorhythm was written in processing to control the way this video is being played back and how photographic filters such as polarization are being applied. Then it would endlessly run in the background in the opening night of the exhibition.
